As the controversy over Kunal Kamra's row continues, the Madras High Court has extended the interim anticipatory bail for the stand-up comic till April 17.

This extension comes after Mumbai police registered a fresh FIR against the comedian for his remarks against Maharashtra deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde.

The matter was heard by a single-judge bench of Justice Sunder Mohan who granted the extension of the interim bail.

As per Kamra's counsel V Suresh, three more FIRs have been filed against the comedian.

"Lordship was pleased to grant anticipatory bail. Private notice has been filed. 3 more FIRs have been filed. The hostility towards the petitioner is still continuing,” Suresh was quoted by LiveLaw as saying.

"Three more FIRs have been registered. The hostility towards the petitioner is still continuing. They (Mumbai police) have gone to his house and disturbed his aged parents. Even people who attended the show were summoned," Suresh added.

Earlier today, Kamra moved the Bombay High Court to quash the FIR against him by Mumbai Police for his remarks against Eknath Shinde and for allegedly calling him a "traitor."
