civilian was killed and three others, including a woman, were injured in heavy shelling by Pakistan along the Line of Control in the Loran and Mendhar sectors of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, early Friday morning, according to officials quoted by PTI. The deceased was identified as Mohd Abrar of Loran, while the injured included his wife and another civilian, Layaqat Hussain of Chalery.

The shelling began around 3:50 am and continued for nearly an hour, triggering a blackout and emergency sirens in the area. PTI reports that significant damage was caused to property, with several houses and hundreds of vehicles affected. The injured were shifted to hospitals for treatment.
