Several Houses Damaged In Overnight Shelling In Jammu And Kashmir, Schools Closed

All schools, colleges and universities in Jammu and Kashmir have been closed for two days as a precautionary measure by the government.

After India on Thursday night neutralised Pakistan라이브 바카라 attempt to attack military stations in Jammu, Pathankot, Udhampur, early morning visuals show deserted roads with scant cars. However, security has been tightened and the situation remains normal. 

Panic gripped multiple cities after Jammu was hit by drone and missile attacks last night. Jammu and Kashmir's Chief Minister Omar Abdullah posted on X on Friday morning, “Driving to Jammu now to take stock of the situation after last night라이브 바카라 failed Pakistani drone attack directed at Jammu city & other parts of the division.”

All schools, colleges and universities in Jammu and Kashmir have been closed for two days as a precautionary measure by the government, as per Sakina Ikoo, Minister of School/Hr Education. PTI reported that Leh administration also announced that all schools in the district will remain closed on May 9 and 10 in view of the prevailing India Pakistan escalation.

According to PTI, multiple houses in border towns of Jammu and Kashmir were damaged as Pakistani troops resorted to firing and shelling in multiple locations. PTI reported a damaged horse in Uri's Gingle area near LoC. Houses were damaged in Kanakote, Rajouri in overnight shelling as well.

A civilian told ANI, "The firing by Pakistan has damaged the whole front area of my house. Houses of my relatives have also been damaged. There was very heavy shelling at night. We stand with the Army."

After the attacks, Indian authorities carried out blackout exercises in various cities including Jaisalmer, Amritsar and Jammu.

“All citizens are requested to stay indoors and away from the windows and keep lights turned off and the window curtains drawn. There is no need to panic, a siren will blow now and we will pass the message again once it is clear,” ANI quoted Amritsar DPRO.

Furthermore, as of 7:30 AM on Friday, ANI reported visuals from Reasi's Salal Dam built on Chenab River where at least three gates of the dam can be seen open.

“Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along entire Western Border on the intervening night of 08 and 09 May 2025. Pak troops also resorted to numerous cease fire violations (CFVs) along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.

The drone attacks were effectively repulsed and befitting reply was given to the CFVs,” the Indian Army posted on X.
