Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head added 59 runs for the first wicket. Head also became the second-fastest player to score 1000 runs in the IPL after Andre Russell.

Hardik Pandya broke the partnership by dismissing Abhishek Sharma in the eighth over. Will Jacks got rid of Ishan Kishan in the next over. He also got the wicket of Travis Head.

Nitish Kumar Reddy struggled to connect with the bat and made a tough 19 off 21 balls. Heinrich Klaasen changed gears in the death overs and made a quick 37 off 28 balls. Aniket Verma also hit a couple of sixes, which helped SRH post a respectable total of 162 runs on board.

Jacks took a couple of wickets, whereas Pandya, Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah shared one wicket each.

In response, MI started well with Rohit Sharma hitting three sixes in his short but effective knock of 26 runs. Ryan Rickelton took his time and played his shots comfortably.

Jacks was the highest scorer for MI with 36 off 26 balls. Suryakumar Yadav also contributed with 26 runs off just 15 balls.

Hardik Pandya hit three fours and a six in his 21-run knock off just nine balls, but lost his wicket when only two runs were needed. Eshan Malinga dismissed him and Naman Dhir in the same over.

Tilak Varma hit the winning runs on the first delivery of the next over, and MI won the match comfortably. Jacks was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance.

After this win, Mumbai Indians stayed at the seventh place and SRH at the ninth place in the points table.

Now, MI will take on CSK at the same venue on Sunday, whereas SRH will clash with MI again at their home venue in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
