Stallions sealed the direct final spot after claiming the top spot in the league stage, on Net Run Rate, ahead of Markhors, 12 points each. The Iftikhar Ahmed-led Markhors beat Imam-ul-Haq's Lions in the Qualifier by 29 to set up a final date with Mohammad Haris & Co.
Asked to set a target, Markhors scored 180/6 in 20 overs thanks to Fakhar Zaman's 64-ball 89, then restricted the Lions to 151/9. Akif Javed took wickets (3/22) for the winners.
This is the inaugural edition of the Champions T20 Cup. The domestic tournament featuring five teams, and sanctioned by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), started December 7 with Lions beating Markhors by four wickets.
The other two teams are the Dolphins led by Faheem Ashraf and Shadab Khan's Panthers. The Dolphins lost all their eight league matches, while the Panthers managed three wins, and finished fourth.
