Army Busts Terror Hideout In J&K's Poonch, Explosives Recovered

According to reports, four to five IEDs of varying weights, powdered explosive content, communication devices and clothes were recovered, amongst other material.

Security forces on Sunday evening recovered multiple improvised explosive devices (IED), radio sets and binoculars from a terror hideout in Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to media reports, the bust was made at the hideout in Hari village of Surankote, and was jointly conducted by Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Operations are underway to locate the terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam attack in which at least 26 civilians were killed.

A Cordon and Search Operation launched by forces in the region revealed a hideout spot in the natural caves.

According to reports, four to five IEDs of varying weights, powdered explosive content, communication devices and clothes were recovered, amongst other material. 

The forces destroyed the explosive material found at the hideout, and an anti-terror operation is still underway in the area, officials said. 

The IEDs were covertly hidden, with two of it packed in steel buckets and three in tiffin boxes, Business Standard reported. Other items found at the hideout involved five packets of urea, a five-litre gas cylinder, a binocular, woollen caps, blankets.
