The leaders of Britain, France, Germany and Poland arrived in Kyiv on Saturday to push for a 30-day ceasefire in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The arrivals also marked a depiction of solidarity after Russia hosted the victory day parade at Red Square along with its allies.

French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer arrived together on a train from Poland while Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrived separately. All the leaders have assembled to discuss a 30-day ceasefire that, if rejected, could lead to heavy sanctions on Moscow, as reported by Reuters. The Trump administration had also pushed for this deal claiming it to be the first step on the way to achieving a sustainable peace deal.

This is the first time that European leaders of the four nations have jointly visited Ukraine.

In lieu of the visit, Britain issued a joint statement asserting that, “We, the leaders of France, Germany, Poland and the United Kingdom will stand in Kyiv in solidarity with Ukraine against Russia라이브 바카라 barbaric and illegal full-scale invasion.”

While reacting to the ceasefire deal, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia would support the implementation of the deal but only when certain ‘nuances’ are considered.

The US embassy in Kyiv has issued a warning one day prior to the summit claiming a potentially significant air attack that can happen anytime in the next few days.

The visit comes on the final day of the three-day ceasefire that was declared by Vladimir Putin ahead of the victory day celebrations.
