The Rajat Patidar-led RCB won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Kings' openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh started well and added 42 runs for the first wicket before Krunal Pandya broke the partnership in the fifth over.

Pandya struck again and dismissed the other opener, Singh, in his next over. He made 33 runs, which was the best score for PBKS in the match.
Josh Inglis also contributed with 29 runs off 17 balls. Shashank Singh failed to connect with the bat and made a struggling 31 runs not out off 33 balls with only one boundary. Marco Jansen also remained unbeaten and made 25 off 20 balls.
Pandya and Suyash Sharma shared two wickets each, whereas Romario Shepherd took a wicket. RCB bowlers bowled well and restricted their opponents to 157/6.
In response, Arshdeep Singh got rid of the RCB's opener batter Phil Salt in the first over. But Virat Kohli added 103 runs for the second wicket with Devdutt Padikkal (61).
Both batters made their respective half-centuries and eased the target for RCB. Kohli remained unbeaten on 73 runs as RCB won the match in the 19th over.
Singh, Harpreet Brar and Yuzvendra Chahal took one wicket each for PBKS. Kohli was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten knock.
Now, both teams have a similar number of points (10) after eight matches and five wins. But, RCB have a better net run rate and currently stand at number three. PBKS are just below them at number four in the points table.
RCB will host RR in Bengaluru on Thursday, 24 April, whereas the Kings will go to Kolkata for the match against KKR on Saturday, 26 April.
