On the penultimate day of the competition, the UAE beat hosts Qatar by 29 runs to confirm their ticket to the regional final, to be held in Malaysia next year. Now, they will look to sign off their campaign with a perfect win record.

For Bahrain, however, it's a do-or-die match. With six points from five matches (three wins and two defeats), they are fourth in the seven-team table. A defeat against the favourites will surely end their campaign, but they will be up for a fight.

That said, beating the UAE might not be enough for Bahrain as their fate is now directly linked with those of Qatar (2nd) and Saudi Arabia (3rd). If Qatar beat Saudi Arabia, game over. If both Saudi Arabia and Bahrain win their respective games, then the notorious Net Run Rate play will come into effect, to decide who join the UAE as one of the top two teams from Asia Qualifier B.

Here's what the table looks like after the penultimate day's matches:

Pos. Team Pld. W L NR Pts. NRR
1 UAE 5 5 0 0 10 2.987
2 Qatar 5 4 1 0 8 0.85
3 Saudi Arabia 5 3 2 0 6 1.221
4 Bahrain 5 3 2 0 6 1.214
5 Thailand 6 3 3 0 6 minus 1.330
6 Cambodia 5 0 5 0 0 minus 1.925
7 Bhutan 5 0 5 0 0 minus 2.715
